Lindsay Miedema

Lindsay has recently joined the SWSC team. Prior to joining us she worked as a therapist at a counselling centre and has also worked as a Child Protection Worker. Other employment experience includes supporting victims of abuse and domestic violence in the Hamilton Area.


Lindsay has experience with supporting and counselling adults, adolescents and children who are experiencing various mental health issues such as; Anxiety, Depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. Lindsay strives to support those who have experienced trauma, abuse, divorce and loss. She uses therapeutic techniques such as: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Strength Based Therapy, Play Therapy and Art Therapy.


Lindsay is qualified to offer training in the “Beyond Consequences” approach which is a program for parents/guardians of children who have experienced trauma. She has participated in various training and certifications in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Grief Therapy.
